Resource extraction is one of the most destructive industries in the world, and mining companies are trying to profit from the current crisis. We condemn ways the industry and many governments are taking advantage of the pandemic to find new opportunities for unsustainable resource extraction. Indigenous communities are often highly vulnerable and their right to free, prior and informed consent denied.
