Consultation – Pax Christi International’s Network in East and Horn of Africa

In a concerted effort to strengthen our Network in East and Horn of Africa, Pax Christi organized a consultation in Kenya in August 2023.

The objective was to reflect upon and address key issues of mutual interest that had been identified during the Johannesburg Consultation in December 2016 and look at the future.

Sister Wamuyu Washira, Co-President, Dieudonné Serukabusa, Africa Regional Coordinator, and Martha Inés Romero, Secretary General, led the discussion about Regionalization as a way to strengthen the movement in the Global South.

Participants included representatives from: Association Of Sisterhoods Of Kenya (AOSK), Sacred Hart of Jesus (South Sudan), HAP-Forum, Peace Tree Network, St. Paul University (Kenya), Seeds of Peace (SOPA), Chemichemi, Amani Communities Africa (ACAAfrica), People for Peace in Africa (PPAAFRICA), Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA), Catholic Missionary.

At the end of the consultation, participants committed to collaboratively formulating a comprehensive action plan that aligns with PCI’s evolving vision and enhances its efficacy in fostering positive change.
