SUMMARY:Joint Ceremony for victims in Palestine and Israel
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, Israel observes Memorial Day\, a day on which victims of terror and violence are commemorated. \nThe organisations Parents’ Circle Families Forum and Combatants for Peace use this commemoration to highlight the suffering caused by terror\, war\, retaliation and other violence on both sides of the conflict. They bring together victims from different backgrounds\, both Israeli and Palestinian. Family members bear witness to the deaths of their loved ones\, but also to their desire to work towards peace and justice\, towards security for everyone\, and towards a shared future. \nOn 20 April 2026\, the 21st Joint Ceremony will be organised. First due to Covid and then due to the war in Gaza\, Palestinians and Israelis can no longer attend this ceremony together in person. But that has not stopped the organisers from putting together a strong programme featuring powerful testimonies\, music\, poetry and speeches. It is always a deeply moving event\, thanks to the authentic stories\, but also thanks to the powerful message of peace\, justice and reconciliation. \nHow can you follow this ceremony?\n1. Would you like to follow this ceremony together with others? Then come to Brussels on Monday evening\, 20 April. We will gather at the Chapel for Europe. \nREGISTER HERE\n  \n2. Would you prefer to follow from home? Then register on the website of American Friends of the Parents’ Circle Families Forum. \nIn collaboration \nThanks to the enormous efforts of Parents’ Circle Families Forum and Combatants for Peace\, the 21st Joint Ceremony is taking place this year. This requires not only organisational and technical skills\, but also psycho-social and emotional strength. It is an exceptional event that deals with one of the worst forms of pain: the loss of a child\, of a parent\, of a brother or sister. To bear witness to this is no easy task\, certainly not when you do so alongside people who are labelled as the enemy by propaganda. \nPax Christi International is collaborating on the event together with Pax Christi Flanders\, Chapel for Europe\, the Platform of Israeli NGOs for Human Rights\, the German Friends of the Parents Circle Families Forum\, Broederlijk Delen and Women Wage Peace / Women of the Sun Belgium. \n  \n\nDownload the flyer\n

SUMMARY:Christians in Palestine: Voices of Faith\, Resilience\, and Hope
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 7th 2026 at 17:30\, at the Quaker House (Square Ambiorix 50\, 1000\, Brussels)\, an evening of dialogue and witness will take place. The event\, co-organised by Pax Christi International together with Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA)\, Pax Christi Vlaanderen and the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches affairs in Palestine\, will bring together representatives of the Catholic Church and members of the Palestinian delegation of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches affairs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe gathering will offer the opportunity to hear stories of faith and resilience from Palestinian Christian voices\, reflecting on life in contexts marked by conflict and ongoing struggle\, as well as on the role of peacebuilding in the present day. \nAt 18:15\, will begin the screening of “La Via Dolorosa: the Path of Sorrows”\, a four-part documentary tracing 2\,000 years of Palestinian Christian history. SUMMARY:Taybeh: A Christian Call to Peace from Palestine
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Nakba Day\, Friday\, May 15\, Pax Christi International warmly invites you to a special and timely webinar highlighting the story of Taybeh\, the last entirely Christian Palestinian town in the West Bank\, and its living witness of faith\, resilience\, and peace in the midst of ongoing suffering in the Holy Land. \nToday\, Taybeh stands at a critical moment. The community faces increasing pressures through land confiscation\, movement restrictions\, economic hardship\, and the growing threat to the continuity of Palestinian Christian life and presence in their homeland. Yet despite these realities\, the people of Taybeh continue to embody steadfastness\, dignity\, nonviolence\, and unwavering hope for a just and lasting peace. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe speaker\nAbouna (Fr.) Bashar Fawadleh is a Palestinian Catholic priest born in Jerusalem and currently serving as Parish Priest of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Taybeh. A dedicated youth chaplain\, educator\, and advocate for justice and peace\, he has devoted his ministry to strengthening Christian communities in Palestine and empowering young people to remain deeply rooted in faith\, hope\, and their identity in the land of Christ. \n\n  \nDuring this webinar\, we will reflect together on the significance of Taybeh today\, the challenges confronting Palestinian Christians\, and the urgent importance of preserving the Christian presence in the Holy Land. We will also explore how communities rooted in faith continue to raise a courageous call for justice\, peace\, human dignity\, and reconciliation. \nWe warmly invite you to join this important conversation in solidarity with the people of Taybeh and the wider Palestinian community and to stand alongside those who continue to witness to hope amid adversity. \n  \n Friday\, May 15th\n 3:00 pm (Palestine time) – 2:00 pm (Brussels time) – 8:00 am (New York time) – 7:00 am (Bogota time) – 10:00 pm (Sydney time) – 9:00 pm (Seoul time) \n  \nAgenda\n\n\nIntroduction by Martha Inés Romero\, Secretary General of Pax Christi International;\n\nModerator Marian Pallister\, Chair of Pax Christi Scotland\, introducing the speaker;\nFr.
