SUMMARY:A Voice from the Border: The Pastoral Presence of Bishop Mark Seitz
DESCRIPTION:On October 24\, 2024\, Pax Christi International\, with the support of the Pax Christi Fund for Peace\, hosted the webinar “A Voice from the Border: The Pastoral Presence of Bishop Mark J. Seitz.” \nIn this emotional and deeply moving conversation\, Bishop Mark Seitz shared his firsthand experiences working with immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. Moderated by Marie Dennis of our Catholic Nonviolence Initiative\, this webinar offered a unique and compassionate perspective on immigration. \nBishop Seitz concluded with a poignant reflection that continues to resonate with us: \n“Advocacy will only have an impact if we change the minds and hearts of citizens in this country. We have to do the hard work of reaching the grassroots and helping people understand—a kind of understanding that can only come from encounter. I hope and pray that people will take the opportunity\, wherever they live\, to reach out\, ask questions\, and listen to the stories of immigrants. These stories may very well change your life\, allowing you to see a reality through their eyes that you were unable to see before.” \n\n\n  \nThis event is part of a series organized by the Pax Christi Fund for Peace. You can read more about the series here.
