France: Read the latest edition of the Pax Christi France newsletter

23/2/18 - Pax Christi France recently published the latest edition of their newsletter. Included in the news letter are the following items:

  • Pax Christi France is organising a workshop entitled, “Truth and power: what role for lobbyists?”, on 10 March 2018 which will be held at the Institut Catholique de Paris. The event will be introduced by Msgr. Marc Stenger, Bishop-President of Pax Christi France, and topics like "what are lobbies", as well as "what are the ethical and moral dimensions of lobbying", will be discussed.
  • Last 28 January, the movements and associations of the Church of Lyon participated in a forum focused on reflection, work, dialogue and exchange, respect for the environment, referring to the encyclical of Pope Francis "Laudato Si".
  • Pax Christi France reports that Mons. Claverie Domenicana, Trappist Tibhirine and other religious and dead martyrs will be taken to the altars and soon beatified. This is a still sensitive issue in France and for the universal Church because their exemplary life raises many questions even in our ranks of faithful and Christians.
  • Following the tragic continuation of conflict situations in different parts of the world, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, Pope Francis invited all the faithful to a special day of prayer and fasting for peace, next 23 February, Friday of the First Week of Lent and launched an urgent appeal for everyone to question themselves "What can I do for peace?".
