The Vital Role of Civil Society and Faith Leaders in Healing Trauma in Palestine, Championing Women’s Values

On May 2nd, 2024, during our webinar titled “A Normal Life in Palestine,” we explored the essence of daily life in Palestine and the significant role played by civil society and faith leaders in fostering healing, empowerment, and the promotion of women’s values. The conversations provided invaluable insights into resilience, compassion, and the pursuit of justice in the region.

The webinar was introduced by Martha Inés Romero, PCI Secretary General, and a prayer from Sr. Teresia Wamuyu Wachira and Bishop (Em.) Marc Stenger, PCI Co-presidents.

We were honoured to have had Sr. Anna Maria from Comboni’s Sisters, Zoughbi Alzoughbi, Director of Wi’am, and Shadin Nassar, Communications Coordinator at Tent of Nations, share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations with us with the support of Marian Pallister, Pax Christi Scotland chair, who moderated the session.

Yuval Rahamim, Co-General Director at Parents Circle Families Forum, shared a message of solidarity and hope for the Holy Land.

In addition, we were privileged to hear reflections from His Beatitude Patriarch (Emeritus) Michel Sabbah and Father Gabriel Romanelli, whose wisdom further enriched our understanding of the issues at hand.

Caesar D’Mello, Pax Christi International board member and part of Pax Christi Australia, concluded the event with a reflection.
