During its meeting on 3 March, the Central Committee of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC), gathered in Bangkok, expressed deep concern over the escalation of violence in the Middle East and the risk of a conflict with global consequences.

Echoing the appeal of Pope Leo XIV, the bishops stressed that peace cannot arise from weapons but only from sincere and responsible dialogue, reaffirming that peace is the fruit of justice and dialogue among peoples, while war affects the most vulnerable above all.

In the statement released, they call for an immediate ceasefire, a return to diplomacy, greater interreligious solidarity, and a concrete commitment to supporting the victims of war, while also inviting the Churches of Asia to intensify prayer and acts of solidarity for peace.
