Over the past months, Pax Christi International has continued to implement the Training of Trainers (ToT) project in several African countries.
Sisters from different dioceses have taken part in a training programme focused on the principles of peacebuilding and Nonviolence education, equipping them to apply these approaches within their own local communities.
In recent days, Pax Christi International’s Africa Regional Coordinator, Dieudonné Serukabuza, has been travelling across the dioceses involved in the ToT programme to carry out a mid-term evaluation of the sisters participating, the knowledge acquired, and the overall experience and impact of the training.
After visiting Uganda, Dieudonné is currently in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the Diocese of Mahagi-Nioka. There, he met with the sisters to assess how they have been implementing the methods learned during the training in their own teaching and community work, while also identifying possible improvements and new strategies for future training sessions. He was also received by the Bishop of the Diocese, Mons. Sosthène Ayikuli Udjuwa.
In the coming days, the mid-term evaluation will continue in the Diocese of Bunia. Pax Christi International remains committed to supporting the Training of Trainers initiative, recognising education in nonviolence as a solid foundation upon which to build the future.
