Strengthening communities through
solidarity approach in Latin America
Since 2012, Pax Christi International has been strengthening local communities in seven Latin American countries (Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay, and El Salvador) and advocating in solidarity with Comissão Pastoral da Terra (CPT) in Brazil, to defend their rights against the negative social and environmental impacts of extractive activities.
By enhancing the capacity of local communities to build just peace through nonviolent civic practices and advocacy, we—along with our regional partners—aim to foster sustainable and just communities while strengthening community organisation and networking.
