From 1 to 3 October 2025, the international conference “Raising Hope Together” facilitated by the Laudato Si’ Movement, will bring together global leaders from faith communities, social movements, science, and public policy to mark the tenth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.
Nicolás Paz, Director of the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative, is honoured to participate in this important gathering, which will reflect on the impact of Laudato Si’ over the past decade and seek to renew and deepen our shared commitment to care for our common home through faith-rooted, nonviolent action. This will also be a chance to mark the final day of our Catholic Nonviolence Days of Action.
On 1 October, the conference will open with a celebration of hope for our common home, led by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. This moment will set the tone for the two days that follow, filled with dialogue and collaboration among leaders and practitioners committed to ecological justice, nonviolence, and integral human development.
On 2 and 3 October, conference sessions will focus on:
-
The most effective actions we can take now to respond to the ecological crisis
-
The intersection of nonviolence, climate justice, and social transformation
-
The role of faith and spiritual practice in building resilience and hope
The main sessions of the conference will be livestreamed, with recordings made available afterwards.
Livestream times (Central European Time):

2 October: 09:20–11:00 and 12:00–13:30
