As military spending rises and several European countries consider reviving or expanding conscription, the fundamental right to conscientious objection faces renewed pressure. This webinar brings together campaigners, experts, and conscientious objectors to assess the current landscape in Europe and beyond. We will explore international standards, share experiences from countries where CO rights are restricted or under threat, and discuss how civil society can respond collectively to ensure that the right to refuse to kill is protected.
Organised by Pax Christi International, Quaker Council for European Affairs, Pax Christi Scotland, Pax Christi Italy, Connection e.V., Un Ponte Per and War Resisters’ International, the event aims to raise awareness, build alliances, and map out the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Join us on December 9th 2025 at 5:30 pm (Brussels time) to better understand what is at stake, and how we can act together to defend conscientious objection in Europe.
