During the Pax Christi International 2025 World Gathering, held in Florence from 5 to 9 November, the Pax Christi Youth Forum was officially launched. The Forum is a platform for young people aged 18 to 35 who wish to commit themselves, from a youth-centred perspective, to advancing the values and messages of the Movement.

Participants from England, France, Italy, the Philippines, Portugal, South Korea and the United States had the opportunity to meet in person for the first time in Florence, on the occasion of the celebration of the eightieth anniversary of Pax Christi International. This gathering enabled them to come together and work collectively on defining shared objectives and a joint commitment, which was officially presented during the Youth Forum launch event.

“We are fighting for future generations, for democracy, for human rights, and for justice,” the young participants stated. “We stand for a world where young people can grow without fear, where every voice counts, and where compassion outweighs division. We do this not because it is easy, but because it is necessary. Peace is not only our dream: it is our shared duty to the generations to come.”

Starting in 2026, Pax Christi youth will seek to promote a global message of Active Nonviolence by making use of — and further expanding — their network, committing themselves in concrete ways to the pursuit of universal values for a Just Peace.
