In recent days, the January edition of the Training of Trainers (ToT), organised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has come to an end. The course, created by Pax Christi International in collaboration with various African dioceses, was held this time in the Diocese of Bunia, in Ituri Province.

Twelve Sisters from the dioceses of Bunia, Wamba and Mahagi took part in a programme focused on education in Conflict Management, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), PSEA and Transformational Leadership. They are now equipped to design and deliver their own training sessions to be shared in schools and parishes across their respective territories.
Several sessions of this latest ToT were attended by His Eminence Dieudonné Uringi Uuci, Bishop of the Diocese of Bunia.

In recent months, Pax Christi International has carried forward a number of projects in Africa through the support and constant presence of our Africa Regional Coordinator, Dieudonné Serukabuza. Last September, in Uganda, the first phase of the PCI_ARU project was completed together with the new management team composed of four Ugandan Sisters. The team reviewed the conclusion of the first tranche, assessing the objectives achieved, and discussed the possible launch of a new phase for the years 2026–2029, tentatively identifying the Ecclesiastical Province of Tororo as the next area of focus.

Last December, the final ToT of 2025 took place: on that occasion, Dieudonné accompanied fifteen Sisters from Burundi, representing six different dioceses, in a programme on Nonviolent Action and Peacebuilding, Trauma Healing and Transformational Leadership.

In the coming months, Africa will once again be an active field for the implementation of new courses and projects, all oriented towards the shared objective of spreading a global message of Nonviolence across all territories.
