Pax Christi Representative’s Speech during UNESCO 42nd Session of the General Conference

Pax Christi International’s Representative, Ms Bérengère Savelieff, delivered a speech during the General Policy Debate of UNESCO 42nd Session of the General Conference (November 11, 2023).

“UNESCO remains fully committed to making the advent of a culture of peace an essential challenge for the international community. It seems crucial to us that these efforts should continue, and that the guidelines for the next two years should take into account the need to make education for peace and nonviolence a common objective for all nations.”

UNESCO General Conference consists of the representatives of UNESCO’s Member States. It meets every two years, and is attended by Member States and Associate Members, together with observers for non-Member States, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
