The situation in Sudan remains worrying and urgent attention should be put to the violence, humanitarian crisis, and acts of genocide increasingly devastating Sudan, particularly the capital city and the Darfur region.

Through the insightful voices of Sister Elena Balatti and John Ashworth, we want to shed light on the current living conditions in the area and on the pressing need for a committed effort to establish a Just Peace and full respect for Human Rights in the affected areas.

Offering support to those who directly and indirectly are victims of war is a nonviolent way to aid life so that it continues and it is a sign that bonds of fraternity are what really wins in human relationships, before, during and after wars.

(Nonviolence) is the only viable path. Violence only breeds more violence. While all parties to the conflict must be involved in peace talks, the ultimate long-term solution must involve a civilian government, not a power-sharing arrangement with military factions.
