On 4 March 2025, the event “Christian Witness in the Holy Land: Report of the Episcopal Visit in January 2025” was co-organised by the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) and Pax Christi International.
During the event, Rev. Canon Mark Madden and Rev. Fr. Paul Lansu, Board member of Pax Christi International, shared key insights from their recent visit to the Holy Land as part of the Holy Land Coordination Group. They focused on the ongoing challenges faced by Christian communities in Gaza and the West Bank, particularly the impact of the current conflict and violence on their lives. Their testimonies highlighted the resilience of these communities despite the hardships they endure.
The event also brought together participants from Civil Society Organisations, the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Commission, and the European Parliament.
The discussions aimed to promote a deeper understanding of the situation in the region and encouraged continued dialogue on how to work towards a just and lasting peace in the Holy Land.
