Urgent Call to Action: With the fall of Goma, the EU must take responsibility in restoring peace and stability in the Great Lakes

Brussels, January 31st, 2025

With the seizing of Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo by the M23 rebel group and Rwandan military forces, regional stability is compromised, and the situation can have potentially dramatic consequences for civilian populations.

The European Network for Central Africa (EurAc), of which Pax Christi International is a member, calls on the EU to take responsibility in restoring peace and stability in the Great Lakes.
