On May 24, our co-president, Bishop (Em.) Marc Stenger, along with other dedicated religious leaders, gathered near TotalEnergies‘ headquarters to lead a powerful fast in solidarity with communities in East Africa. This action aimed to challenge the company’s destructive oil projects, including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and the Tilenga oil field.

Bishop Marc Stenger and fellow activists, representing five different religious traditions, stood united in demanding the immediate abandonment of these environmentally harmful projects. This inspiring act of faith and resistance was part of a week-long interfaith fast, symbolizing a collective commitment to protecting our planet.

This impactful action was led by GreenFaith, showcasing the power of interfaith collaboration in the fight for climate justice.
