On Sunday, 27 April 2025, Fr. Paul Lansu, a long-time peace advocate and board member of Pax Christi International, shared a heartfelt reflection during a liturgical gathering at Community De Lier in Bruges. His talk, the first in a three-part series called “Un temps pour rester debout” – A Time to Remain Standing, spoke directly to the challenges peace workers face in today’s turbulent world. With over 40 years of experience behind him, Fr. Lansu offered a moving, personal take on what it means to hold onto nonviolence, justice, and hope even when conflict and uncertainty feel overwhelming.
In this age of darkness, he insists, we must become lights for one another. Change is possible through connection, dialogue, and small acts of kindness that reflect the dignity and humanity of all people.
