Today we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Lent. On the occasion of the anniversary of our Movement, Pax Christi International’s Secretary General Martha Inés Romero invites us to reflect on the role of peacemakers, whom Jesus himself calls blessed (Mt 5:9). To be peacemakers today means to cultivate resilience in faith, to organise hope, and to build networks of charity that overcome borders and fears.
In a time marked by wars and by the crisis of international institutions, the Nonviolent Gospel shows us a different path: the sacrifice made by Jesus for each of us points us towards relationships instead of domination, and compassion instead of control.
May this Lenten season continue to be for us a time of perseverance in love towards each of our brothers and sisters around the world.
