The delegation was then hosted at the Quaker House in an event co-organised by the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine, Quaker Council of European Affairs (QCEA), Pax Christi International and Pax Christi Flanders. The event was the opportunity for Brussels-based organisations to gather information on the current situation of Palestinian Christians and to exchange with the delegation.
The meeting continued with the screening of the documentary “La Via Dolorosa: The Path of Sorrows”, directed by Amira Hanania. The film recounts the Christian presence in Palestine, rooted since the time of Jesus and compelled to endure oppression and suffering in order to preserve its land and historical memory. Divided into five chapters, each portraying a different historical era, from the birth of the first Christian communities to the genocide currently taking place, the documentary stands as a powerful testimony to the rich history of Palestine through the eyes of a Christian who, despite everything, is still able to leave a message of peace for the future.
