On Thursday 19 February 2026, the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE) hosted its annual meeting of Catholic organisations engaged in advocacy with the institutions of the European Union. Among the approximately twenty Catholic organisations present was Pax Christi International, represented by its Advocacy Officer, Giulia Bordin.
The meeting was presided over by Fr Manuel Barrios Prieto, General Secretary of COMECE, and was also attended by H.E. Mgr Bernardito Cleopas Auza, Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union.
As every year, the organisations had the opportunity to engage in a shared dialogue focused on the advocacy challenges facing the EU institutions. Pax Christi International presented its objectives for 2026, centred on continuing a coordinated effort to promote justice and peace.
