Pax Christi International, in collaboration with 20 organisations, has joined the UN Charter Reform Coalition, urging UN Member States to invoke Article 109 of the UN Charter and convene a General Conference to review and update the Charter.

The world is confronted with unprecedented challenges and, to effectively address these issues, we need a renewed commitment to peace, nonviolence, and justice. The 1945 UN Charter, while foundational, no longer reflects the realities of today’s global landscape. A comprehensive review is necessary to strengthen international cooperation and safeguard human dignity.

We call on the international community to take decisive action in reforming the UN Charter for a more peaceful and just world!
