On Tuesday, 19 November, the President of Pax Christi Italy, Bishop Giovanni Ricchiuti, had the opportunity to meet Pope Leo XIV in Rome.

The Bishop was able to exchange a few words with the Holy Father, mentioning Pax Christi International and the recent World Gathering held in Florence.

He then presented him with one of the Pax calendars for 2026, an issue of the Pax Christi Italy periodical Mosaico di Pace, which features an article on the film “L’anima attesa” about Don Tonino Bello, and a photograph from 1993 showing the Pope as a young Augustinian (the first on the right). The gifts were accompanied by the dedication: “We stand with you, Holiness, on Isaiah’s paths. Upright and on the move, builders of peace!”

Bishop Ricchiuti had previously met Pope Leo XIV on 17 June: on that occasion, he gifted him an olive-wood medallion from a Palestinian olive grove whose trees had been cut down by Israeli settlers, brought to him by Kairos Palestine.
