We’re delighted to share that Martha Inés Romero, our Secretary General, contributed to Issue 56 of Pax Scotia, the newsletter of Pax Christi Scotland.

In this heartfelt reflection, Martha Inés Romero writes as a woman from the Global South serving the global Catholic peace movement, offering powerful insights on compassion, political will, and love as essential measures of peacebuilding. She shares moments from her recent visit to Scotland, from vigils at Faslane to interfaith dialogue, and from meeting students to standing alongside advocates for justice.

I understood that nothing happens if we don’t understand the intrinsic relationship between our lives and other’s lives, our faith and other faiths. The strategic way we connect with the other, accompanying people at the peripheries – physically or remotely — then, we can feel the power of active nonviolence, as an expression of love in action.

We warmly invite you to read her full piece here.
