80 years for Peace
Founded in 1945, Pax Christi International has been a beacon of hope and a vehicle for peace for eight decades. As a Catholic peace movement, our mission has been to transform conflicts and foster peace, human rights, and justice globally. The 80th anniversary offers a profound opportunity to commemorate our achievements, reflect on lessons learned, and strategize future actions towards global peace and reconciliation.
Our key priorities for this year are:
- Commemorating Pax Christi International’s rich history
- Reaffirming our commitments to peace and justice, emphasising nonviolence as a core principle, fostering human security, supporting conflict transformation, and emphasising the need for human rights and climate justice
- Engaging and expanding our community, with a specific attention to the youth
